Attention

We have reached maximum capacity for workshops at ECT*, so we had to close registration a few weeks earlier than expected. We apologize for that.  Feel free to contact the organizers if there are any issues with this.

Abstract

MICRA, which stands for Microphysics In Computational Relativistic Astrophysics, is a workshop focused on improving, discussing, and addressing the microphysics needs of relativistic simulations of astrophysical systems, such as core-collapse supernovae, compact object mergers, and gamma-ray bursts, by bringing together nuclear and neutrino theorists and experimentalists, astrophysicists and computational modelers.

The principal goal of MICRA is to improve and facilitate the interaction and collaboration between different communities towards astrophysical simulations that combine state- of-the-art microscopic (neutrino-matter interactions, equations of  state,  thermonuclear  reaction rates) and macroscopic physics/methods (e.g. hydrodynamics, radiative transfer, and relativity). This is particularly timely in the current era of multi-messenger astrophysics.
