Description

LFC19: Strong dynamics for physics within and beyond the Standard Model at LHC and Future Colliders

The proposed workshop will address strong-interaction physics and its relevance on the current planning for future particle-physics facilities. The workshop will in particular address the possible appearance of new strong interaction phenomena at present and future colliders and the state of the art of the interplay between perturbative and non-perturbative QCD, both at the LHC and at the very high energies that these colliders plan to reach. Different non-perturbative approaches will be examined, with the purpose of improving the capability of existing QCD tools in disentangling new physics from hadronic background effects at such machines. The precision attainable in Standard Model studies, such as measurements of top-quark and Higgs properties, searches for non-standard Higgs bosons and exotic fermions, possibly mediating novel strong interactions, will be explored too.

The meeting will be organized according to general talks and the following topical sessions:

Quantum Chromodynamics (Convener: Giancarlo Ferrera)

Top Quark Physics (Convener: Francesco Tramontano)

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking and Physics Beyond the Standard Model  (Conveners: Aldo Deandrea and Roberto Franceschini)

At the end of each session, some time will be allocated to discuss the topics presented in the talks.
