Description

Modeling neutrino-nucleus interactions

The investigation of neutrino oscillations is one of the most lively and exciting fields in particle physics nowadays. Since the year the 2000, the oscillation research has moved from the discovery stage to a mature field providing successively more accurate results leading to a better understanding of flavour and masses in the standard model. The next step is the discovery of CP violation in the leptonic sector. The precise measurement of neutrino properties has become one of the highest priorities in fundamental particle physics, involving many experiments worldwide. Since the extraction of neutrino properties requires the knowledge of the incoming neutrino energy, the reconstruction of that energy from the finalstate products of the interactions is a critical element in these experiments.

The goal of the workshop is to improve the neutrino-nucleus interaction generators used by the neutrino experiments, while paying special attention to their theory content and numerical implementation.
