Program excursion

To Lago di Caldonazzo

Planned for Thursday, October 16, 2025

Lago di Caldonazzo is the largest lake entirely within the Province of Trento — covering roughly 5.4 km² and sitting at about 449 m above sea level.
We are planning a light afternoon hiking trip in the lake area.

Participants joining the excursion will skip the regular lunch at ECT* and receive a take-away lunch package instead.

Getting There

The trip with public transportation (included in the Trentino Guest Card, no need to buy tickets) takes about 1 hour from ECT*.

  1. Bus Line 6: ECT* (Villazzano “Villa Tambosi”) → Trento Train Station (Piazza Dante “Stazione Fs”)
  2. Bus B401: Trento Autostazione → Valcanover

We plan to catch the bus from Trento at 12 : 36. Connections are available roughly every 30 minutes, so there is some flexibility to take a later one if needed.

Hiking Route

There are two possible routes for the hike, one slightly longer than the other:

  • A) Valcanover → Santa Caterina → Prai → Calceranica al Lago (~ 2 h)

  • B) Valcanover → Santa Caterina → Prai → Bosentino (~ 1.5 h)

Only the final part differs between the two routes, so the choice can be made on site depending on the group’s preference.

Getting Back

The return trip to Trento by bus takes about 40–45 minutes, depending on the chosen route:

  • A) Bus B450: Calceranica al Lago → Trento (~ 45 min)

    • Planned departure: 15 : 56, with alternatives roughly every hour.

  • B) Bus B303: Bosentino → Trento (~ 40 min)

    • Planned departure: 16 : 04, with alternatives roughly every hour.
