ECT* is located in Villazzano, a small village in the suburb of Trento, the capital of the Autonomous Region of Trentino and Alto Adige and the Autonomous Province of Trentino. The site is known to locals as "Villa Tambosi", which is the name of the late XVIII century villa where the ECT* is based. The address of ECT* is: Strada delle Tabarelle, 286, 38123 Villazzano TN, Italy.
First: reaching Trento
By airplane. The nearest airports, in order of proximity, are Verona, Brescia, Bergamo, Venice, Milan and Bologna. In order of importance, the list is basically reversed, being Milan, Venice, Bologna, Verona, Bergamo and Brescia. Usually, once at the airport, one continues to Trento taking a train (see below) from the nearest station. Notice that in this case we strongly recommend to purchase the train tickets either online or at the railway-ticket offices in the airport upon arrival, in order to avoid lines at the railway station.
Milan - Linate and Malpensa airports. Milan has two international airports: Linate (mostly for European and internal flights) and Malpensa (mostly for overseas flights). Once at Linate airport, you can take the blue metro line to Milano Centrale railway station (about 12 min). From Malpensa airport either the Malpensa express train or the shuttle bus allow you to reach Milano Central Station in about 1 hour. From Milano Central Station you can take train to Trento via Verona (high-speed trains to Verona are available
Venice - Marco Polo airport. From Marco Polo airpot Trento can be reached by car in about 2 hours via the Motorway (A4 to Verona and then A22 northways or via SS47 Valsugana National road). The airport is well connected to both Mestre railway station and Venice Santa Lucia railway station, from where you can catch a train to Trento (usually via Verona)
Bologna - Guglielmo Marconi airport. Bologna features a relatively big airport. There is a bus shuttle to the railway station from where there are direct high-speed trains to Verona/Trento (Freccia Rossa o Argento), which is the main advantage for landing here.
Verona - Valerio Catullo airport. This is the large airport closest to Trento. Trento can be reached in about 1 hour by car via the Motorway (A22) or in about 1h 30 min by train. Once at the airport, there is a bus shuttle service to Verona railway station Porta Nuova (tickets can be purchased on board). There is also the possibility to go from the airport to Porta Nuova by taxi for about €20. Please note that the last train from Verona station to Trento leaves at 10.50 pm.
Bergamo/Brecia. Bergamo (Il Caravaggio) and Brescia (Gabriele D'Annunzio) airports, are small airports which provide slots for cheap flight carriers from and to several European cities. A bus shuttle to the railway station of Bergamo and Brescia is provided. Next, one can catch a train to Trento via Verona.
Second: reaching ECT*
There are several ways to reach ECT* once you have arrived in Trento.
By bus. Trento has an efficient urban transport system run by Trentino Trasporti Spa. Tickets (€ 1.20 ) must be purchased at a tobacconist or a newspaper shop before boarding the bus and must be validated after getting on the bus. Two bus lines reach Villa Tambosi:
- 6 - Walk straight across the park in front of the train station and reach via Alfieri. The bus stop for bus No.6 is in via Gazzoletti. (Do NOT take bus No.6 on the landing in front of the station. That bus goes in the wrong direction.) Take bus No.6 and get off the bus in Villazzano at the "Villa Tambosi" stop, which is immediately after a round point .

Timetables and itineraries are listed at the bus-stops. The service starts between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., and finishes between 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m.
By car. Follow your GPS or ask Google maps to make a route for you from your current location to ECT* (Strada delle Tabarelle 286, Villazzano).
By train. At Trento railway station take the train heading Bassano del Grappa (Valsugana line) and exit at the third stop ("Villazzano"). The centre is 200 meters on your right. Notice that you can take this train even with the bus ticket (remember to validate the ticket on the platform).
By taxi. There is a taxi service right outside the railway station (Tel. +39-0461-235383) or you can call Radio Taxi service (Tel. +39-0461-930002). A ride from Trento downtown to FBK "Villa Tambosi" in Villazzano costs around 15 €.
