This year is a special year for ECT* since we celebrate its 30th anniversary.

On this occasion, we will reflect on the past years but in particular look forward, exploring current and future open questions in nuclear physics and related areas.

The program of the symposium will feature distinguished researchers who have contributed to the scientific journey of ECT* over the past 30 years and who will discuss much of the Center's characterizing research areas.

A public event will also be held in celebration of ECT* 30th anniversary on October 7th 2023

Il lungo viaggio degli antinuclei: dal centro della nostra galassia alla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale

The European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas (ECT*) in Trento provides a dedicated and structured combination of scientific activities for the large international scientific community active in the field of nuclear physics in the broadest sense. ECT* acts as an “intellectual” centre of competence, complementary in scope and activities to existing research facilities based at universities or experimental laboratories. It promotes coordination of European research efforts in nuclear physics and related research areas. The annual programme of ECT* consists of workshops, collaboration meetings, and, with a focus on PhD students and early-career researchers, the Doctoral Training Program and the TALENT school. ECT* also hosts a research group active in QCD and computational physics, including postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.

ECT* is highly appreciative of the support it has received over the past 30 years.

The ECT* is part of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK). The Centre is funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento, through specific agreement with FBK. Additional fundings is provided by funding agencies of EU Member and Associated states, from the various instruments of the Framework Programmes of the European Commission, and by individual institutions and initiatives. ECT* is registered as an European Research Infrastructure, and it is an institutional member of NuPECC, the ESF associated Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee.
