The ab initio approach to nuclear theory is based on two main pillars that confer strong predictive power, that is generating nuclear interactions consistent with the symmetries of QCD and solving the nuclear many-body problem precisely. One of the most important challenges in this respect is to reliably estimate the uncertainties of theoretical predictions. Other open issues for the next generation include applications to precision electroweak processes and pursuing prediction for nuclear reactions, which requires introducing novel and efficient many-body methods.
The workshop will aim at evaluating the state of the art of ab initio theory and fostering the exchange of ideas within the community on novel methods with groundbreaking potential
