I study critical behavior in a simple nonconformal holographic setting, i.e., for black holes in five dimensional Einstein-dilaton gravity, where criticality is obtained by choosing the potential of the dilaton field appropriately. In the critical limit the nonhydrodynamic modes can be solved analytically, become long-lived, and coalesce into a branch cut. This limit is one-to-one...
