Description

Nuclear Physics Meets Condensed Matter: Symmetry, Topology, and Gauge

This workshop will bring nuclear and condensed matter theorists to discuss common topics involving the physics of few particles and the many-body problem. We have also invited a few experimentalists in the area of atomic physics that have been performing highly controllable ultra-cold atom experiments to test theoretical ideas originated in nuclear and condensed matter physics. We intend to address issues involving Abelian and non-Abelian gauge theories, topological states of matter, color superconductivity, super-symmetric mixtures, baryogenesis, and Efimov states, which are topics that arise at the crossroads between nuclear and condensed matter physics.
